Enabling

I'm a cook book and cooking magazine addict. Especially magazines. I tell myself everytime, "Just one more, this one might be better, THEN I'll stop."

Yeah, right. Sick I tell ya'; just sick. I've been very, very good this year by copying recipes or tips from the magazines and then giving them away to coworkers. If I didn't do this, I'd end up like one of those ladies who whordes cats, except I'd have more magazines than I could safely handle. Anyway, I digress.

I was at the bookstore last night (enabling). I've never looked at Cook's Illustrated magazine because it really hasn't caught my eye in the past. All the other cooking magazines have what I call "food porn" covers, which just draws flys to molasses for someone like me. I glanced, I liked, and I bought.

Little did I know how W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L this magazine is! I have Pam Anderson's "The Best Recipe" in my cookbook cache and loved how she went into very detailed explaination of every recipe or technique. There were several trials for each recipe for simple things, like meatloaf, cookies, how to roast a turkey, etc., and I thought, "This magazine is exactly like her book!" I later found out she is (was?) executive editor for the magazine. No wonder I'm in love! Where have I been??!
